General Information

Nepal is renowned for outstanding natural beauty; awe-inspiring mountain views; and some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. The famous land of the Yak and Yeti, Nepal’s recorded history goes back to 800 BC. Although officially a Hindu nation, Nepal is a melting pot of Hindu and Buddhist cultures.

What to see in Nepal

Kathmandu Valley treasures numerous Hindu temples and Buddhist Stupas studded around Durbar Squares. Outside the Kathmandu Valley, the charming villages of Bandipur and Nagarkot offer an old-world charm with exquisitely carved Newari houses; cobbled streets; and a laidback lifestyle. Towards the south, in the Terai region, lie Chitwan and Bardia, two of the best wildlife parks in Asia. Home to a rich variety of wildlife and birdlife, these parks offer a range of jungle activities including jeep expeditions; elephant safaris; boat rides; and walks. Surrounded by the towering peaks of Annapurna and Macchapuchere (Fishtail) mountains, Pokhara is an area of outstanding natural beauty and a base for several treks. The Annapurna Range offers interesting treks for beginners as well as experienced mountain climbers.
