Day 1: Arrive Delhi
On arrival in Delhi you will be met at the airport and taken to a city hotel for a two-night stay. Remainder of the day is at leisure.
Day 2: Delhi
Your morning tour of Old Delhi includes Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat – a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, and the bazaars of Chandni Chowk. After lunch explore New Delhi, including the architecturally fascinating Lutyens buildings and the iconic India Gate, Qutub Minar and Humayun’s Tomb.

Day 3: Delhi – Mandawa
Drive to Mandawa this morning and stay overnight at Vivaana Culture Haveli – a tastefully restored mansion. Mandawa was a prosperous trading outpost on the silk route. In its heydays, the local rich merchants built exquisitely carved and beautifully painted mansions to show off their wealth. Most of them are worn out as the region’s fortune waned. Now Mandawa is like an open art gallery of lavishly painted mansions mulling their faded grandeur. In the afternoon explore grand havelis (mansions), with their colourful murals and wall paintings.

Day 4: Mandawa – Bikaner
Drive to the fortified city of Bikaner and check into Narendra Bhawan, a beautiful royal palace. An atmospheric medieval city of Bikaner is an ideal stop while traveling from Jaipur to Jaisalmer. Junagarh Fort, with an impressive collection of armours, and the camel breeding farm are the biggest attractions. Bikaner is popular for its annual camel festival. For the less squeamish, Karni Mata Temple or Rat Temple is a unique experience. In the afternoon, visit the Junagarh Fort and its museum followed by the nearby camel breeding farm.

Day 5: Bikaner – Jaisalmer
Today’s adventure takes you south west into the Thar Desert to the medieval town of Jaisalmer. Stay at Suryagarh for two nights.

Day 6: Jaisalmer
Rising from the heart of the Thar Desert like a golden mirage is the enchanting city of Jaisalmer. A commanding fort etched in yellow sandstone dominates the amber-hued city. Its narrow lanes are strewn with magnificent palaces, intricately carved havelis and Jain temples. A desert safari to see a spectacular sunset is an unforgettable experience. This morning’s sightseeing begins at Jaisalmer Fort, also known as the Golden Fort due to its distinctive golden hued stones. Sitting atop Trikuta Hills, the Fort commands spectacular views of the desert landscape in all directions. Visit the intricately carved havelis of local merchants, Jain temples and the sacred Gadisar tank. In the evening take a camel ride across the dunes to see the sunset.

Day 7: Jaisalmer – Rohet (Jodhpur)
Drive to the village of Rohet, on the outskirts of Jodhpur and stay overnight at Rohetgarh, a heritage palace hotel. Jodhpur is a magnificent walled city with towering Mehrangarh Fort. Known as Sun City due to the high number of bright and sunny days, Jodhpur’s houses are painted blue to soothe hot sun rays, giving it a name of ‘Blue City’. The bird’s eye view of cobalt blue houses from top of the fort is absolute magic. The afternoon sightseeing of Jodhpur includes the Jaswant Thada and the imposing Meherangarh Fort.

Day 8: Rohet – Udaipur
The scenic drive this morning takes you to Ranakpur, to see intricately carved Jain Temple complex. After lunch in the pleasant surroundings of Maharani Bagh orchards, drive on to the romantic city of Udaipur. Stay for the next two nights at Trident Hotel, close to Lake Pichola.
Day 9: Udaipur
Udaipur is regarded as the most charming city of Rajasthan. The magnificent ochre painted stately buildings perched around shimmering lakes with Aravalli Hills in the background create a magical atmosphere. This is a perfect setting to unwind after an action-packed Rajasthan holiday. Your morning city sightseeing includes the City Palace, the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, Jagdish Temple and Sahelion-ki-Bari, a garden built for the Maids of Honour. In the afternoon enjoy a relaxing boat ride on Lake Pichola for magnificent views of stately buildings against the backdrop of Aravalli Range.

Day 10: Udaipur – Barli
Drive to Bijaipur, a charming Rajasthani village. Stay for two nights at Fort Barli – a delightful fort palace hotel. Afternoon is at leisure to explore this 16th century fort and its surroundings.
Day 11: Barli
The day is free to explore the colourful village and its markets. A bullock car ride through the village or early morning birding tour are on offer.
Day 12: Barli – Jaipur
After breakfast you leave for Jaipur and stay for two nights at the Shahpura House, the former Royal Mansion in the heart of Jaipur city.
Day 13: Jaipur
The most interesting corner of India’s popular Golden Triangle, Jaipur has the prettiest fort in India. Maharaja’s lavish City Palace, Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) with 953 carved windows and Jantar Mantar observatory are must-see landmarks of the city. Nearby villages of Sanganer and Bagru are famous for hand block printing. This morning’s tour starts at Hawa Mahal, the ‘Palace of Winds’, before visiting the magnificent hilltop Amer (Amber) Fort. Here you can explore the Fort’s extensive apartments decorated with murals and mosaics. The afternoon sightseeing includes the Jantar Mantar observatory, City Palace and the Museum.

Day 14: Jaipur – Agra
Today we drive to Agra – the city of Taj. Our first stop is Abhaneri – just outside Jaipur city – to see 9th century stepwell ‘Chand Baori’. Then drive on to Bharatpur and visit the famous bird sanctuary. After lunch in a manor house proceed to Agra visiting Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted capital of Emperor Akbar, en route. Stay overnight at the ITC Mughal.

Day 15: Agra – Delhi
Agra is home to India’s most recognizable symbol, the Taj Mahal. This former capital of Mughal Empire treasures several magnificent Indo-Islamic monuments including an impressive red sand stone fort, the tomb of Itmad-ud-daula, Mehtab Bagh and deserted capital of Mughal Emperor Akbar at Fatehpur Sikri. Agra’s markets are renowned for marble artefacts and leather goods. A highlight of today’s tour is a visit to the Taj Mahal at sunrise. This is followed by breakfast at the hotel and a visit to the iconic 16th century sandstone Agra Fort. In the afternoon you drive to Delhi for an overnight stay at The Grand Hotel or similar.
Day 16: Depart Delhi
